About the Author
Joseph V. Colello, author, was born in the East Harlem of New York City. He is a US Navy veteran, a life member of the DAV and the VFW and a fourth degree life member of the K of C. He was a member of Cardinal Cooke’s Committee on Italian Migration and a Commander of the St. Lucy Post of Catholic War Veterans. He is active in Order Sons of Italy in America and served as its New State and National Cooley’s Anemia Chairman. The New York Grand Lodge recently bestowed upon him the prestigious Vincenzo Sellaro Award. He is a retired Certified Safety Professional and served for seven terms as the Town Supervisor of the Town of Orangetown in Rockland County, New York. He was married to the late Frances Salerno Colello for 54 years. They have one daughter, Melinda Mace and three grandchildren.
