About the Book
The story is about a planet colonized by settlers from earth and how Ferto, coming from a moral culture, copes with being suddenly thrust into the advanced, impersonal and totalitarian society of Cetrum, then to Glom and a life of grinding poverty. His knowledge of plants takes him from his uncomplicated life on a farm in Trilobia to find plants to provide the oxygen necessary for space vessels being built in Cetrum for distant travel. There are twists and turns as Ferto deals with the cruel Cetrumites, sabotage of space mobiles, threats of extermination of half of Glom’s population all of which keeps the reader on edge to the very end.
About the Author
The author has traveled widely throughout the world and has lived in South East Asia, Central and South America and Europe where she accompanied her U.S. Foreign Service officer husband on diplomatic assignments. She taught English as a foreign language and taught in elementary schools in several of those posts. Her writing draws upon her many observations and experiences while abroad. Since their retirement they have lived in the Old Mission area of Michigan where both are active in the community. She is the author of two books on the rich history of that region. They have two grown children.
