About the Book

The Weekend Captain’s Guide to Basic Boating is different from any other book on the subject. It reads like a novel, but is filled with information and facts like a reference book. It goes beyond the basics and is meant to be inspirational, as well as educational. It helps to build one’s self confidence by showing that most of the problems that you may encounter on the water are universal. They invariably will happen to everyone at one time or another. It is important to realize that you are not alone and that these things do not only affect you. Problems may arise at any time. It is the knowledgeable, self confident boater that turns them around and moves on.

About the Author

Jeffrey Caso has been enamored with Boating since his first ride in a small boat at age five. He currently holds a USCG 50 ton Masters License with an Assistance Towing endorsement. In addition, he has completed a mentored course in Marine Surveying. He makes his living however, as a General Dentist in private practice in New York. Over the years he has owned, restored and built many boats. He enjoys classically styled boats and builds wooden kayaks, dinghies and small power launches as a hobby. His real pleasure is derived from a day spent on the water with his family. He says, “In a confined space, such as on a boat, people need to get along differently than on land. This creates a unique family bond, which stays with you for life”.
