About the Book
Troubles along the Mullan Trail is a lusty novel about the early days in western Montana when many of the desperados, fleeing from the vigilantes of the Virginia City-Bannack area, moved up north to the gold diggings in the towns and camps along the Mullan Road. There, the criminals continued their terroristic ways: raping, robbing, and murdering the local miners and ranchers. That is until U.S. Marshal Lt. Steve Stallings was dispatched from Washington to restore law and order. When Steve learns that one of the raped women is someone that he loves, he vows to hunt the culprit down to his death. Great reading!
About the Author
John E. Cyr came to California from Montana at 19, a fugitive from the Great Depression. One of his first jobs was with a Company that owned and operated a 3600 acre tenant farmed “island” in the California Delta.. He lived in the heart of the Delta for several years working as the Company representative with the tenant farmers. While living there as a single man he became very familiar with that vast playground where hunting and fishing were exceptional, which he always enjoyed. Later he moved into Stockton but always thought back about his happy life there.
