About the Book

The author´s great grandparent´s moved west and homesteaded in Iowa.  During a blizzard in January 1920 she was born in the beautiful mansion they had built in 1872.  

The book first identifies the people involved in her early life then starts the saga of her many moves from Iowa to California and to the Pacific Northwest.   For seniors, it will bring back many memories, for their children it will help them understand a little better who their parents are and what shaped their lives.  For their descendants it will make history come alive.

Each chapter spans a decade or more of stories. This is a book that will help families bond together and understand where and how family values might fit in the high tech world we face in the 21st Century.

Be ready for a little bit of philosophy, a few historic facts and lots of laughs.  Enjoy!

About the Author

Ernestine (Baker) Townsend, a gifted researcher and writer, was born at Eldorado, her great grandparents mansion pictured on the front cover. A CENTURY OF STORIES was written to preserve her interesting family history and to tell stories about people who lived from the late 19th century through the twentieth century and into the new millennium. Her book OTHER CENTURIES - OTHER STORIES is about people who lived before the Revolution and through the 19th century. These delightful stories contain a bit of philosophy, a few historic facts and lots of humor. Enjoy!
