About the Book
… a contemporary woman… Anna Sedgwick Perry Matthews is all of that from her first taste of life as a college student living in France with her aunt. Much subdued after her wild fling here and happily married back in the U.S., she settles down with her successful husband and three children to a busy domestic and social life and all is serene until …
the reappearance of her lover from her youthful days long ago in Paris. A clandestine and torrid love affair is renewed with disastrous consequences and Anna’s life is further complicated by a murder, which is covered up to protect the family,
a three million dollar inheritance the whereabouts of which is unknown,
a murder trial and a startling revelation at the end of the story.
Anna rationalizes her guilt in her search for absolution until she realizes her life is on a downward spiral out of control.
An intriguing epilogue whets the reader’s appetite for more and a sequel is in progress.
