About the Book
When an attorney is asked to ascertain who owns a piece of property on which sits a white tower surrounded by a wrought iron fence, she opens up the floodgates of special privilege and hypocrisy that is flagrant in her small town in southern Alabama. Her attempts to solve the mystery brings her into direct conflict with the town´s most powerful man -- the father of her best friend, and one who had treated her almost as a daughter when she was a child. The solution goes back almost a century, and uncovers a code of ethics that belies the very word.
About the Author
Jimmie Harvey grew up in the deep south, where she observed “Southern Aristocracy” on a daily basis. She believes it is much less a factor these days, though the smaller the town, the more likely it still exists. She now lives in California. Though her career has been in accounting and income tax processing, she has always found some time to write. She managed a group that designed income tax software and wrote the technical manuals. She has published several books of poetry and has had technical articles published in magazines. This is her first novel.
