When I walk out of prison, this was my mission, to liberate the oppressed and the oppressor both. Some say this has now been achieved. But, I know this is not the case. The truth is that we are not free; we have merely achieved the freedom to be free, the right not to be oppressed. We have not taken the final step of our journey, but the first step on a longer and even more difficult road.

IF I CAN If I can put new hope within the heart of one who has lost hope. If I can help a brother up some difficult long road that seems too rough and rocky. When your feet have grown tired, if I can empower you to realize your dreams and take control of your life. I won’t need nothing in return. I’ve traveled that road And well I know Your greatest need… You see, I remember being confused, frustrated, and giving up. But hands have reached to help. And I could hear your voice. This kept me courageous and gentle. If I can share this help that has been given me God knows I shall be glad.
