About the Book

A PART OF ME

This book you are about to read are poems that I have written throughout my life. It is titled “A Part Of Me” because each poem in this book developed from a feeling or emotion or something that I was going through at that time in my life.

I write based on life experiences. When I’m in love, I write love poems. If I’m heart broken, I write from the pain that my heart feels. When I sat down and feel the presence of God then I will write spiritually. During this day and time in my life I write more spiritually then I do any other type of poems. I have made mistakes in my life, but because I cannot change my past, I can only use those mistakes to learn from and move on in my life.

The majority of these poems are poems from my past. They go as far back as the late 1980’s. I may never tell another soul my true feelings. But with pen and paper I can tell it all. This book tells my life but in the form of poems. All I can say is that “I’ve been there, done that!”

Many obstacles I have encountered but even though I have overcome them these poems are still “a part of me.” I hope you will enjoy this book! Hope

About the Author

I was born February 17, 1966, the youngest of ten children. I was born in Smithville, Texas but was raised up in Bastrop, Texas. Although I have lived in other parts of the country, I now reside back in Bastrop. I am married with four children, three boys and one girl. I have a full time job as a Home Health Attendant caring for the elderly and disable in their home. Poetry has always been a past time for me every since I’ve been in grade school. Although this book is the first that I have had published through a publishing company, I have self-published two other poetry books, “Sometimes It Hurt So Bad” and “Growing Pains” which will be reproduced through the same publisher as this book.
