About the Author

K. D. Cobbs has been a practicing communication specialist for nearly twenty-five years in the educational and healthcare fields, respectively. Over the last thirteen years, Ms. Cobbs has devoted her attention to working exclusively with older adults in a variety of healthcare settings: skilled nursing facilities, assistive living facilities, home health and hospitals. The purpose of her focus was to provide therapy to remediate communication disorders and related handicapping conditions due to strokes, parkinson’s disease, alzheimer’s disease and other neurological involvement and to restore the older adult client to his/her prior level of functioning for activities of daily living. Additionally, to develop a therapeutic program, to ensure maintenance of the older adult client’s thinking and physical skills, post-rehabilitation, for participation in activities of every day life. The concept that is reflected in her book. In 1999, Ms Cobbs joined as spokesperson, GeriPro and Associates, a company that specializes in the development and marketing of therapeutic recreational games and equipment for older adults to improve and/or maintain mental and physical abilities.
