About the Book

People, Color, Shapes. People. My true passion is to photograph everyday life in it’s simplicity and complexity at the same time. Life is so rich and saturated in actions, feelings of love, sadness, accomplishments, defeat, drama and most of all constant search for happiness. All of this is embedded in time, a constant unforgiving process. Time did not exist at the beginning. We invented it through our conduct. In scale larger than our “own universe” time does not exist - the mystery we are forced to share. Color. Despite many attempts to define, describe and catalog, color will still remain purely in the sphere of feelings. Subtle transformations, delicate variations influence our inner world and actions. Color is a superior language of dialog between people, nature and material objects. Shapes. The exciting world of crossing lines, angles provide the most universal and common frame. A shape of the woman, flowers, trees, intersection, buildings, musical instruments, leaves and shadows. Shapes are unique. There are no two shapes that are identical. The time frame of an individual photograph is between a 1800 of a second to two minutes (on average) during the exposure. Based on this simple, yet imperfect calculation, this collection of images has taken about five minutes to create.

About the Author

Mark Wagner is a photographer. This sounds like not much of a statement, until you see his vision through his photographs. There is a difference between pretty pictures and photographs, and there is a great difference between photographs and great images. From the first photograph of Mark’s that I saw, I knew that there was vision that he had was beyond the norm. The challenge that we all face in photography, is that everyone can take pictures and anyone can call themselves a “photographer”. The first exception to the ordinary that Mark brings us is to share is his deep philosophical knowledge and believes, through his images. Although there is great beauty and impact in these images, there is more in the offering for us to discover. I hope that you enjoy, not only the “wow” factor of these images, but are so impressed with an image, that you will frame it for yourself and relish it for many years to come. I consider it an honor to call Mark a real talented photographer, and more importantly, a good friend. Trevor Reisz “photographer in progress”.
