The 9/11 Commission report argued that our failure as Americans was in our lack of imagination, so new ideas are proposed on how to improve our quality of life. Terrorism, the War in Iraq and Afghanistan, street crime, drugs, juvenile and gang violence, energy and education costs, illegal immigration, low wages, the economy, health care, transportation, the environment, and social security need desperate repair. E-government, virtual democracy, plutocracy, oligarchy, media, “K-street”, globalization, strategic thinking, cross-cultural diplomacy, Ambassadors, term limits, campaign finance, lobbying and legislative reform are discussed. Thoughts are presented that argue the need for a United States global policy.
