About the Book
“Westward Yo, let’s get these wagons moving; we still have a long way to go,” was a typical command to a group of covered wagons from a wagon master. There were the daring who tried to cross the prairie in a single wagon. A dangerous undertaking, and as a rule, they did not survive. For those who did, it was with heavenly blessings. It tells of how, in the aftermath of the Civil War, the gray and blue coats arrived safely at their destination. With the settlement of the West came doctors who tirelessly provided necessary medical help, men who built and rebuilt towns, and the few lawmen who did their best to maintain law and order.
