About the Book

About the Author

Approximately six months after his birth on November 25, 1958 in Baxley Georgia his single mother of five moved to Broward County Florida where Arthur grew up in the City of Pompano Beach. He experienced the transition from segregation to the desegregation of public schools. When he was seven he noticed there was a writer who wrote one of his favorite television shows. This is when the thought to be a write occurred. He thinks all creative writers are inspired by life’s experiences. Although Arthur loves to read biographies he loves to write fiction. “Young Criminals Beware,” Arthur’s first book, shares a space in Arthur’s heart with, “Bears Like Us.” Viewing nature films and seeing how bears are like us was part of the inspiration for writing, “Bears Like Us.” When the Tsunami of December of 2005 hit, the course of this story seems to have changed. Arthur is not sure of how the story should have gone. The Donkey that transported Jesus of Nazareth into Jerusalem is, to Arthur, the Ultimate Transporter. Arthur’s attempt to see what this donkey saw was part of the inspiration for this story. Hearing of so many people who have no health insurance and are at the point of death before seeing a doctor was part of the inspiration for writing, “Paying Dr. Beck Back.” Piece by piece over a great deal of time Arthur believe God placed the game “Focus” into his thoughts and he put it on paper. Arthur is aware that he may never know what actually happened.
