About the Book

About the Author

Rennie G. Quible - Writer - Storyteller - Educator - Volunteer - Wife, Mom, Grandmom, Great-Grandmom Rennie G. Quible is a retired elementary school teacher and principal. She retired after thirty-six wears of service in prince George’s County Public School. She is an author of published books, articles for Lions Clubs International magazine, a teacher’s guide for a Maryland text book, and reading lessons for Media Materials of Baltimore, MD. Rennie completed her first little book of poems and stories when she was eleven. Many more followed. On summer days, neighborhood children used to sit on a log in her backyard and listen to her tales by the hour. Today, Rennie divides her time among family activities, traveling, writing and volunteer activities. She is a member of Lions Club International. As a Volunteer Docent at the national Archives, Rennie continues to stimulate the interest and curiosity of her listeners. In the fall of 1990, she was honored as the National Archives Volunteer of the Year. Additionally, that year, Rennie was one of the seven individuals who received the Volunteer of the Year Proclamation of Prince George’s County, Maryland. For several summers, Rennie pleasures children at recreation centers and public libraries with her flannel board stories. The youngsters enjoyed putting the little pictures on the board as Rennie (Grandma Q) spun her yarns. Through the years, Rennie has shared stories with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and hundreds of others. She says writing and sharing stories is her way of helping everyone to discover the enjoyment of reading and writing stories, themselves. Rennie Quible was born in Washington, D.C. She grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She and her husband of over sixty years live now in Dover, Delaware where Rennie still spins yarns on her “log” for listeners of all ages.
