About the Book

This book combines fiction and mostly non-fiction – the difference is obvious with each story. Only the story of being chief engineer in a super carrier was hard to write, the others recalled pleasant memories and some stories elicit a laugh every time I tell it, but each has a “ring of truth” in it.

About the Author

Captain Gibson received his undergraduate degree in engineering the United States Naval Academy, class of, and his master’s degree in physical oceanography from the United States Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California. He “served with pride” on active duty in the Navy for thirty-one years with sea service in five ships and three Navy industrial activities. Before retiring to the good life, he taught high school physics and mathematics for five years. He lives with his wife in Rogers, Arkansas during the summer and in Port Isabel, Texas for the winter months.
