Do you ever stop during your hectic life of running around with the kids, shuffling from bus stop to bus stop or doing chore after chore to consider your purpose in life; and a better question, where have you been and where is it that you are in such a rush to go. Well it is this thought process that started me on my writing journey. Granted, I have no children yet and I have just graduated university, but my mind is constantly in overdrive. I sit back and make observations of the world that I believe others rarely even venture to consider. My poetry is very visual and illustrative. I want to seep into the imagination of my reader and take them to a place that’s unexpected. I try to accomplish this by painting a picture in words that fully envelops the reader. Often times when I reflect and re-read some of my poems I am taken to a place that I had not even intended. It is my hope that my readers would be transported to a place that will make them question the very purpose of their lives. I want so much for humanity, for us to always want more, to never be satisfied with mediocrity, to love hard, and to always be sincere in our approach to life. I truly love putting my thoughts to paper for the sake of my own sanity. But if my words somehow liberate others in any way, my greatest ambition would be realized. I was born in the beautiful Bahamas on the island of Grand Bahama. I lived there until I was seven and then moved to Eleuthera where I completed elementary and high school. After a short four month break I left for Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada where I attended Saint Mary’s University and graduated in May, 2009. I received my BA and Honors degree in Psychology, with a Certificate in Human Resources Management. I am currently working within Government and also pursuing other life goals.
