About the Book

"True stories become legends on wings of imagination and exaggeration. This legend's true core, tells about a solitary lady having devotion to ":La Virgen de la Luz." Two men thrice attempting to steal from her, give up due to imagined, illuminated parties in her home. The fictitious modern-day story linked to it, shows one way legends maintain continuity, and in rare instances, rekindled through "modern-day miracles." Altered quotes in the legend portion, brought life to real character whose original words have long since, been diluted or enhanced through generations, including my subjective translation of them, into English. Believers will find the legend inspiring, disbelievers may find it entertaining and fictitious as is the modern-day story It can be told because exasperated robbers spoke of their failure, the Sheriff told of the "miracle," and my ancestors had faith." About the Author

The Author, a retired Microbiologist and Public Health Laboratory Manager, now living in San Antonio, Texas, was inspired to write about the Spanish legend told to her as a child by her maternal grandmother, who in turn heard it from her paternal grandmother.
