About the Author
Matthew M. Cooney is a medical oncologist specializing in genitourinary cancers. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, he is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology. Dr. Cooney treats men with prostate cancer in a multi-disciplinary fashion working with urologic surgeons, radiation oncologists, clinical trials nurses, social workers, and nutritionists at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, located in Cleveland, Ohio, which is a National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. His research interests include clinical trials focusing on new drugs that treat prostate cancer and combating prostate cancer in Africa. Dr. Cooney is a regular speaker for prostate cancer groups discussing the treatments for advanced prostate cancer.
