About the Book
Determination to succeed. Second-hand planes. Expectations to fail. Segregation and Jim Crow laws. Service with distinction. Heroism and achievement. Take a journey with Thomas, a boy from Alabama as he learns from the young men who came from across the United States to prove that anything was possible. Thomas’s journal lets us become an eyewitness to history as we step back in time and see the emergence of The Tuskegee Airmen, real American heroes, then and now.
