About the Book
Bimbogami is a collection of short stories depicting people’s mysterious experiences in Japan. “Hang Glider” is the story of an ill-fated flier and the photograph his friend took the moment his wings broke up, “Ghost Train” is an episode in the life of a tired company worker who gets lost on his way home, “Bimbogami” represents the demon of poverty, “Visitor” is an unusual case of astral projection, and “Kappa Bridge” presents a police officer who chases a mysterious, amphibious creature. Every episode describes Japanese culture and Japanese people’s behavior in various contexts.
About the Author
Yoshimasa Ogawa was born in Nara Prefecture, Japan. He studied at Waseda University in Tokyo and at San Jose State University in California. Currently, he is a professor at Showa Women’s University and is the author of Bimbogami, another collection of short stories.
