About the Book
Like a wheat-weaving, this memoir weaves together many strands of interest – a boy growing up on a Kansas farm during the Great American Depression, an adolescent experiencing school in a mid-western town during WW II, a midshipman’s training in a Big Ten university, and a naval officer’s service during the Korean War, one person’s spiritual journey leading to 40 years as a United Methodist pastor, the joys and struggles of both individual and family life as it bridges eight decades of social and technological change. This book will appeal to young historians as its globe-trotting author relates his life to historic moments which have intersected it.
