About the Author
Bobbie Hall, a Chicago native, became an art lover as a teenager. Her art history teacher instilled in Hall a determination to one day see for herself the riches of the Italian Renaissance in general and the artistic treasures of medieval Florence in particular. This came true in 1959-60 when Hall, her husband and two teenage sons went to live in Florence for a year. The story of this remarkable sojourn has been well-detailed in Hall's book "Letters From Tuscany - A Memoir"- 2002. Since the Tuscany book deals mainly with letters, much fascinating material remained which has now been gathered into short articles in "An Italian Encore - a Memoir"- 2004. A treasure in itself! Hall, a longtime resident of Phoenix, Arizona, with a career as a head medical reseach librarian, has maintained her faithful interest in art, both at home and in other trips abroad.
