About the Author

Jan M. Broekman is Visiting Professor in Law at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana (Ill) and Professor Emeritus Philosophy of the Universities of Leuven (Belgium) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands). He studied Social Sciences at Leiden University (The Netherlands) and Philosophy, Psychiatry and Pedagogic at Goettingen University (Germany). He wrote fifteen books in various languages, on Philosophy, Law, Literature and Psychiatry, and numerous articles in those fields. This book is the result of many years of study and practice in electronically enhanced education in the USA and Europe, as well as of philosophical analyses of those recent pedagogical efforts.
