About the Book

From the glitz of soirees in Canberra to the baking deserts of the Outback, from high above the urban jungle of Sydney’s streets to the pristine waters of the Great Barrier Reef, Thorne discovers that he has become an expendable pawn in a life-and-death struggle in which drugs, money, weapons and power are the prizes that go to the winners, and human life is the cheapest commodity. Thorne comes to know the Australian people as they really are with all their tragedy, humor and courage in facing life on this rugged continent.

Thorne meets danger at every turn and, as betrayal dogs his footsteps, he finds himself in one cliffhanging crisis after another, turning Oz into a killing ground. Strangers become friends and friends become enemies as he crosses the continent in this breathtaking chase. He discovers that Man is the deadliest creature in this primitive setting and it will take all of his tradecraft and determination to survive.
