About the Book
I propose in this book to stray from some of the usual theories about suicide, such as those occurring from loneliness, depression, rationality, disturbed equilibrium and those guided by hallucinations and delusions, plus lack of integration into society.
About the Author
The author has served as Nutrition Coordinator of Monterey County, president of the Senior Citizen commission, president of Monterey County Suicide Prevention Center, has worked as a psychiatric social worker, and along with all else, had a beloved daughter who had anorexia nervosa at the age of 19. She never recovered, but she did not die until the age of 56. This illness changed the author’s major from Russian and writing to Psychology and Abnormal Psychology. Moving to Arkansas, she taught college Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and writing for many years. She obtained her PhD at the age of 77, and finally returned to California, still teaching, at the age of 77. This work is dedicated to her daughter, Kaaren, who did not commit, yet did commit suicide. The reader will learn to understand the dichotomy.
