About the Author

Helen Whitelaw was born in Eads, Colorado on January 2, 1920 and was the second in family of four children. About six years later the family moved to Denver, and four years after that moved to California. The family settled in Alhambra, near Los Angeles. It was there she wants to grade school and high school. Then she went to Pasadena City College; graduating with an AA degree. After college she worked for the Woolworth store in the hardware department and became quite a “handyman”. Following that she met and married John Gess. After having four lovely daughters, she found herself alone and the sole support of the girls and herself. She then went to work for the Municipal Court system of California; working 30 years before retiring. It was during these years that she became interested in metaphysics and all kinds of extra sensory perception and related subjects. These interests eventually led to the creation of the “Light of Life” book and how to master life.
