About the Author

Mercedes Bleu is the pen name for the author Cynthia Tate, a native of Glasco, New York. While in junior high school, the family relocated to Albany, New York. She graduated from Albany Senior High School. She received a nursing scholarship, but transferred to liberal arts at the Hudson Valley Community College. She has worked for the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities for 20 years. The author has published short stories and poetry in various hometown papers. The Fifth Seed is her first novel.
