About the Book

It was a golden age of giant beasts; plated, scaly or leathery, they were everywhere. Some, great behemoths, while others were barely even noticeable. They were the keepers of the land, as well as destroyers of it. These great cunning beasts, with no fear of man, could be found lumbering casually in the heart of the Ironwood forest, or in smaller bosks that separated the villages from the wilderness. They could be seen in great numbers gliding freely in the endless skies and roaming in herds in the expansive open fields, or in ponds or even the darkest depths of the oceans. The slow rhythmic breaths could be heard as they lay slumbering within the cool damp solitude of forgotten caves and they commanded respect. The dragon represents everything that Dark Earth is; ambiguity, mystery and intrigue …and of course death destruction and the frailty of human life.
