About the Book

Diara who is the only child in her family wishes for a baby girl. After all her prayers and requests to the tooth fairy Santa, and the stork, her wish was finally grated. However, to her surprise she did not have a baby girl as she wished, but a baby brother. At first she did not look so happy but later on she realized that all she needed was someone to play with.

About the Author

I was born in The Dominican Republic. My early education took place in a small town where I walked to school everyday with my three siblings. At a very early age I stared painting and drawing, an activity in which I spent most of my free time. Being aware of my talent, my parents desired to enroll me in an art class. I attended the art school for about a year. After graduating from high school, I went to college to become a teacher. After completing four years of college I started teaching fourth grade in a Catholic School. In 1993 1 immigrated to the United States (New York) of America to live with my husband. Since I came to this country I always dreamed of going back to school, which I did a few years later. I earned an associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Hostos Community College. I am currently attending Montclair State University where I am perusing bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I am also working in a preschool setting in a day care center located in the Bronx, New York, where I have spend the last seven years. 1 was inspired to become a writer after completing a reading course at Montclair State University, where I had the opportunity to write my first book as part of my assignments, 1 Just Wanted Someone to Play With”.
