About the Book

Thriving in Life’s Wilderness: Five Stories of Endurance is a compilation of five short manuscripts designed to offer insight for navigating the wilderness experience of life. Each book uses the character study approach to elucidate human nature in crisis, divine orchestration and intervention, points to ponder and ways to grow. The goal of each book is to offer the reader perspective at a time in life when the tendency is to focus on survival and not on living. Book One, Trying Times—The Road to Maturation, uses the story of the prophet Jonah to address critical issues pertaining to the God-man relationship. Book Two, Journey to Destiny—Discovering Your Gifts and Calling, uses the story of Joseph to demonstrate God’s methods for communicating purpose, calling and destiny to each of us. The text discusses the importance of alignment with God at a young age so that your time on earth can be maximized for the greater glory of God. Book Three, Controversial Callings, was written to encourage those who may have a controversial calling. It uses the story of the apostle Paul, and a few other unlikely heroes and heroines, to demonstrate how God can use anyone. Controversial Callings also gives some insight on the relationship between Christianity and Judaism. Book Four, Faith and Fortune Cookies—Mastering the Mean Time, is a text of instruction and encouragement. Using the story of Abraham, Faith and Fortune Cookies instructs the reader in knowing God and unleashing God’s power in our lives. Book Five, The Wellspring of Happiness…Joy! delineates the difference between happiness and joy. Thank you for your interest in Thriving in Life’s Wilderness: Five Stories of Endurance.
