About the Book

Although it is geared for the “newer” teacher, “The Art of Teaching…What You Didn’t Learn in College!” can be used by anyone interested in teaching or already in the profession. The “Art of Teaching” was written in the hopes that it will help teachers adjust to the daily ongoings – such as classroom management and paperwork—to the rigors—daily stress—involved in the teaching profession. These ongoings and rigors are likely not taught in college or expected by the “new” teacher. The book is full of “real” ideas, examples and activities that a teacher can use inside their classroom in order to achieve the highest level of success.

About the Author

Richard Burzynski is a teacher in the Perth Amboy School System where he has been for nearly ten years. In addition to teaching, he is an advisor for many activities—both extra curricular and professional—in his school and district. These activities include, advisor for clubs, coach, —Track and Soccer—co-writer of the Social Studies Curriculum two times, member of the AFT, and various articulation committees. He loves teaching and it shows both in and out of the classroom. Outside of school, he enjoys traveling and anything history related. Both of these have a direct link to his teaching style—hands on. In the future, he hopes that he can build upon his knowledge in and out of the classroom by continuing his travels to far away lands, and professional development.
