About the Book

The author asks the reader to consider two main reasons why we should abolish the death penalty in our society. One reason has us deal with the question, “Do we want to kill people who commit a crime when we find that their thinking and patterns of behavior were formed early in life from causes over which they had no control”? Another reason relates to how we view punishment. Since it is not known what happens to life after death, we can only be sure that punishment can take place while an individual is still living. Finally, we give thought to how public opinion about the death penalty can be swayed to join those who op. pose it. We have hope that this may happen when spiritual growth takes place with our people, especially with our leaders.
