About the Author

Onjeinika Brooks and Tamika Jackson are two sisters from Wilmington, North Carolina. Onjeinika lives in Potomac Falls, Virginia with her husband and three children. Her two daughters are featured in the book. Onjeinika dreamed of being a writer since third grade but decided to pursue math and science in college. She received a BS in Industrial Engineering from NC State University. Onjeinika decided to take time off from her career to focus on a growing family and her passion for writing. Sisters Are From Heaven was inspired by the beautiful pictures that Tamika takes of her girls, as well as, the love she and Onjeinika share as sisters. This is Onjeinika’s first book. She and Tamika plan to collaborate on another picture book for children. Tamika has had a love for photography since the age of 10. She is now a self taught, serious, amateur photographer. Tamika credits her grandmother, who raised her, for her strong belief in God and the unbreakable bond she shares with her sister. She credits her mother with introducing her to photography. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and is currently pursuing paralegal certification. Additionally, she works in pharmaceutical research and development. Tamika lives in the DC metro area with her husband. She hopes to launch her photography business in the coming year.
