About the Author

Marilyn S. Patterson, born in Colorado, lived in New Mexico and California before marrying Bill Niebauer of Ripley, New York. She earned her A.A. degree from U.C. Berkeley. The author raised eight children, edited the Ripley Review newspaper, returned to college at S.U.N.Y. Fredonia for B.S. and Masters Degrees, and taught at Ripley Central and St. Gregory Schools. The Niebauers moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1996. Marilyn taught Reading classes at Polk Community College and Memoir writing. She wrote and edited “Holiday Happenings”, also publishing poems and memoirs. Marilyn. S. (Mary Sue) Smith lives in Lakeland with husband James Ellis Smith.
