About the Book

Is it always with brothers and sisters that there are those days when you just don’t see eye-to-eye on much of anything?

It is on those days that we wonder…was I adopted or what? Then you hear someone say, “Well….you can pick your friends, however, you can’t pick your family.” And you laugh and say to yourself….at times I can’t even pick good friends.” Family members are onboard through it all….the good and the bad.

Judy Light has lived in Northern California since she was twenty-eight years old. However, she grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, attending schools and doing all the normal things a young southern girl does….and then she moved away.

This story is about the interaction over a long period of time between Judy and her brother Lonnie. The journey will take you first to their childhood days and then quickly to adulthood.

You will see how two people who didn’t get along as children are more or less the same two people as adults. How circumstances and love bring these two people together and how life teaches, the human compassion of loving someone and letting them go.

The story is humorous and will tickle your funny bone…yet, at times, it will make you sad and reflective about how life can throw you a curve ball.

The writer writes from her heart, allowing you to see as she paints the pictures of her happiness, her sadness and the wonderful people that she calls family and friends. Read and enjoy.
