The story introduces children to Reesie Reader, a young girl who loves to read and Bookie the king of book world. Moving into a new neighborhood, Reesie decides to bring her special book along and visit the park to make new friends. In the park, however, things did not go according to her plan. A couple of bullies try to grab her special book bag, and when they fail to do so, they shove her out of the park. Fortunately, a group of friendly children come to Reesie’s rescue and reprimands the bullies for being so rude. Consoling Reesie, they invite her to their clubhouse where they read Reesie’s book together. As the tale unfolds, surprising twists occur, and new friendships are made.

About the Author

Cherese Bracey was born in Manhattan, New York and was raised in New Jersey where she currently resides with her husband and family. She created the literacy advocates, Reesie Reader & Bookie with a strong purpose to express the joy and love for reading that will spark the love and care of books and story time in children.
