About the Author

Jeff Shiring was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Currently he resides in Northern, Virginia with his family. He graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton. Upon graduation he relocated to Boston where he began his career in finance and received his master’s degree in management theory. He is a CPA and is the Vice President of an environmental company located in northern Virginia. He began to write nonfiction and published his first work, The Unraveling of America, in 2006. This is his second book and was done as a result of his interest in children and developing their reading and math skills. He lives by the motto – carpe diem.
