About the Author

I, Kathryn Stites, was born into a Catholic family, along with five brothers and five sisters. As the second twin of the second set of twins, I was pretty much he forgotten child, except when trouble-spots reared their ugly heads (which they did from time to time). Until graduation from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, I was convinced that the world was my oyster… there was nothing I couldn’t do. Without hesitating, I jumped into motherhood and marriage, in that order. Five sons and one daughter later, my dreams of world fame seemed to fade away. There was no real career for me to sink my teeth into, until the last child (Carl) would turn eighteen. I bided my time with mini lessons on reading, writing and arithmetic aimed at those who chose to listen. Tom was the only child who expressed an interest in writing. He was withdrawn and shy in high school; but Galliccar’s adventures out a spark in his eyes, U hadn’t seen since he was four years old. Together we fought our way to a finished product. The Book was finished in 2002, when we settled on X-Libris as our publisher. Since the book was completed, Tom has gone on to working as a nurse’s aide for a quadriplegic in Bonduel, Wisconsin. The rest of the children have flown the coop, much like their brother Tom. But, this book has brought us together as nothing else could. We will always have our Galliccar!
