About the Book
Frequent exposure to nature and the Bible influenced my thinking and way of life from childhood. During my childhood, our backyard and the undeveloped lands adjacent to it, invited early explorations of nature. On the other hand, my father provided exposure to the Bible through daily family devotions, while my mother lovingly modeled God in her daily interactions with her eleven children. Additionally, the youth ministries department of the little church we attended expanded on that foundation with excursions, hikes, camping trips and moonlight walks that exposed me to nature and God on a grander scale. Such was the way of life that nurtured and developed my creative abilities, and gave birth to the poems in this book. They were written over several years, beginning in early childhood and continuing through the time of compiling this collection for publication. They reflect my deep love and appreciation for nature, and my deeper love and reverence for its Creator. My childhood yearnings for and seeking after God, have matured into a passion to be completely surrendered to Him–to be a servant who reflects His character and does His will. Indeed, I sincerely desire to be used by Him in anyway and every way He chooses. May the poems in this book inspire in each reader a similar desire. Glenda S.
