Friendships formed in high school and college, provide a background for anecdotal stories of Pat Mingione and his teacher friends. The author, using the pseudonym, P. James Rocco, recounts how he and his wife’s relationship evolved from being neighbors and friends to one of unselfish love. The drama of his kidney transplant operation is detailed and life after transplantation is explored. Pat and his wife deal with many adversities making Color Me In a true story of inspirational love.
About the Author
Pat Mingione, using the pseudonym, P. James Rocco, was born in New Castle, PA, a small town about an hour north of Pittsburgh. He graduated from Slippery Rock University with a B.S. in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling. Afterwards, he settled into a successful career as a high school Mathematics teacher at Mohawk High School. Along the way, Pat faced tremendous adversity, having been diagnosed with kidney disease when he was only twenty-four years old. While battling a kidney transplant and medication side effects, he continued with his life as one of the world’s longest living transplant recipients the only way he knew how… all in. A year after his transplant, he married Kathy, the love of his life, and later wrote this story as a dedication to her and the circle of friends known to each other as, “The AC 7”.
