About the Book

If you ever take the time to observe butterflies, you will notice how the flutter of their wings allows them to sporadically change directions. Hurricanes can be disastrous but also represent a new beginning which requires strength and will power to reach recovery. Through all of the changes we face and obstacles we overcome, those directions guide us through paths called life. “Hurricane of Butterflies” is a raw collection of poetry that represents some of the many paths of travel. There are paths that provide instant gratification while others are complex and difficult to maneuver through. Humanity, the common factor we all have, will allow you to relate to the poems in this collection. Take this journey of paths to discover profound days, nights, and seasons of love, despair, inspiration, dreams, grit and beauty.

About the Author

Jamila Garrett is a native Washingtonian. Jamila began writing at age six and has continued this legacy over the years. Her love of fashion and literacy inspired her to include images that represent selected poems. She began creating the World Element Collection with her first book, Hurricane of Butterflies (AIR). Volcano (FIRE) is part two of the collection which will be followed by the remaining elements of the world: EARTH and WATER.
