About the Book

In Web of Truths, Laura E. Daniel has woven a plot of secrets held, and secrets revealed, with all of their conflicts and consequences. As the story opens with a tragic shooting and suicide at the local school, several conflicts emerge within the Shugate family. When Ethan Shugate learns that his boy, Toby, proves not to be a victim of the shooting, after a case of mistaken identity, he resolves to turn his life around, realizing how fragile life can be. Consequently, he plans to end his affair with the mercurial Gracie. But instead of bringing stability to his life, family, and home, new problems arise for him, when Gracie announces she is pregnant and plans to bring her pregnancy to term. The conflict is intertwined with the discovery of mementos from the past by Ethan’s wife, Andrea, which leads her to have questions regarding one of the mementos -- a photo that proves to be evidence of a hitherto unknown affair involving Ethan and the late Lindy, her sister-in-law. As Andrea explores the facts behind the photo’s past, Ethan is focused on an issue in the present, as he strives to keep his affair with Gracie a secret from her. These are just a few of the family secrets that will eventually be revealed through the story, as the web of truths unfolds.

About the Author

Laura E. Daniel has published short stories for both national and local periodicals, as well as a weekly bi-lined column. Additionally, she has honed her craft in writing mainstream “family drama” novels, and Web of Truths is her first published novel. She resides in Lincoln, NE, where she continues to work on her next novel.
