About the Book

Sound Words Revisited "revisits" the vast majority of the editorials appearing in the religious publication Sound Words, which was in circulation between 1983-2008. The material, including the older articles, is not dated at all, but timeless. Organized topically, with each individual article easy to locate in the Table of Contents, Sound Words Revisited provides a glimpse into the state of the Lord´s Church during the time span covered. The material on leadership and preaching alone has been received with much enthusiasm, and the perspectives offered on many of the prevailing destructive attitudes among brethren are forthright and perhaps even blunt. However, there is also material that is uplifting and forward looking. Many Christians, due to their youth and/or inexperience, do not realize what has gone on before them. Sound Words Revisited provides a window into the church´s past as well as a vision for the church´s future that is based on the eternal principles of God´s Word. The message of these editorials is timeless because their foundation is timeless.

About the Author

Kevin W. Rhodes, B.S., M.A., has been preaching for twenty years, serving local congregations, training preachers, and holding singing seminars and marriage seminars. He is the author of How to Study the Bible: A Practical Guide to Biblical Hermeneutics, Shadows of Good Things to Come: A Devotional Survey of the Pentateuch, and A Consequence of Legitimacy: Domitian’s Conflict with the Senate and the Imperial Cult’s Conflict with Christianity, and co-author of Sound Words Revisited. He and his wife, Tracy Anne, have been married happily for seventeen years and have two daughters.
