About the Book

Patrick Harris is the father of three boys. He recently retired from Continental Airlines after twenty-six years of service as an airline captain. In 2005, Pat was diagnosed with a blood disease called MDS. In 2007, it turned into leukemia. Pat went to New Milford Hospital for chemotherapy and then Yale University for more chemo and a bone marrow transplant. He received bone marrow cells from Jill Neer of Phoenix, Arizona on August 10, 2007, and is now cured of leukemia. Without the help of Jill, and all the wonderful medical professionals, he said this book would never have been completed. He thanks all those who saved his life and stood by him during the last three years. Now Pat asks everyone to consider joining the National Marrow Donor Program’s Be The Match Registry. All it takes to join is a swab of the inside of your cheek. If you are called to donate, most donations use a procedure similar to giving blood. Please help save some mom’s, dad’s, or child’s life
