About the Author

Maridee Kildow Cook was born in a small town in Iowa. She loved animals and children right from the start and grew up to marry and become the mother of five children and grandmother to 22. She began writing as a young adult and especially liked to write personal poems for family and friends for every special occasion. Her poems reflected her love of people and her love for her Lord and Savior. Maridee passed away in 1992 but left a legacy of love and caring for her family and friends. We publish this story, written by her many years ago, in honor of that legacy of love and Christian faith.
