About the Book
As a new teacher there are so many things that the college or university program did not explain or prepare you for. This manual hopes to bring together lesson planning activities, classroom management tips, parent communication ideas, etc. to assist you as you face your first year as a teacher no matter the level of instruction.
About the Author
I bring 34 years of experience in education to the table. I have been fortunate to have worked as a teacher of Preschool Physically Handicapped, second grade teacher, third grade teacher, fourth grade teacher, Resource Specialist, High School Instructor (Home Economic, Technology, Art), Elementary Principal, Middle School Principal, High School Principal, University Supervisor of Student Teaching, Assessor for the State Teacher Credentialing Program, and Grant Coordinator for School Improvement. My training includes a Bachelors in Elementary Education and Special Education; Masters in Administration, Special Education and Elementary Education; Doctorate in Public Administration and K-12 Curriculum with credentials in Elementary Education (Multiple Subject), Specialist (Learning Handicapped), Resource Specialist Certification, CLAD (bilingual certification), and Administration (K-12). I think that our teachers today have a huge challenge facing them. I hope that this Survival Guide will help bring many resources together for the new teacher.
