About the Author At the age of twenty-one, Lucas Giddens was walking down the road on the night of December 25, 1996, then was struck by a hit and run driver in Edingburg , Texas . Giddens ended up in the hospital in a coma for a while. After the author woke up from the coma, he was put in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for some time. Thirteen years later he still lives with some physical disabilities, but his mind is still sharp as you can tell by his writings in his book.
