About the Book
Hock is hired by the son of the mayor of the city to investigate a woman who is suspected of being a threat to the political ambitions of his father. Hock quickly clears her, but in the process the mayor’s wife is murdered. Rehired to pursue the killer, Hock finds himself entangled with several exceptionally sexy women. Shydra, one of these, proves especially infuriating and distracting. With the help of the police and a crime boss in the city Hock doggedly follows the twists and turns of his inquiry as it moves towards its surprising conclusion.
About the Author
Douglas Browning, retired university professor of philosophy, lives outside Georgetown, Texas, where he labors at length over poems and novels, stays up throughout the night reading, writing, listening to jazz, and smoking cigars, and enjoys life in his countryside hacienda with his talented and beautiful wife.
