About the Book

This is a reader friendly, no bull, up front, straight talk, history book about noteworthy African-American persons, events, landmarks and little known Black History facts relating to yesterday and today in Concord-Cabarrus County, North Carolina. This volume will be of particular interest to every young African-American both living in the South and in large Northern inner cities. It will be of more interest to the young adult African-Americans growing up and now living in the city of Concord, North Carolina. This volume is in a sense, a collogue or colorful portrait designed to inform others about the experiences of slavery, segregation, discrimination and the achievements of those African-Americans (some of whom) were either enslaved, born or moved to the South between 1860 and 2008. This volume will truly be of interest to every Caucasian of any age, living everywhere, and it will be of particular interest to young adult bi-racial persons now living in the city of Concord, North Carolina. For this volume answers the fundamental questions about the unspoken history of African-Americans everywhere.
